If YHVH allows these who transgress His will to live happily on earth, how infinitely great must be the happiness which He has stored up in the world to come for those who observe His commands.

Think on These Things!

Jewish Names
My-Hebrew-Name

Names are more than convenient labels--going by your Jewish name is a statement of pride in your Jewish heritage. The Jews of ancient Egypt, tradition tells, kept their Jewish names. That's one of the ways they remained a cohesive people and merited redemption.
There's more: Your Jewish name is the channel by which life reaches you from Above. In fact, the Kabbalists say that when parents name a child, they experience a minor prophecy--because, somehow, that child's destiny is wrapped up in the combination of Hebrew letters that make up his or her name.
A girl gets her name at the Torah reading in the synagogue. The rabbi or Torah reader recites a prayer for the health of mother and child and the father provides the name that the parents have chosen. Since the Torah is the source of all of good things, granting a name in the presence of the Torah infuses the name with blessing.
A boy is named at his brit milah (circumcision), when he enters into the covenant of Abraham and becomes a full-fledged member of the Jewish nation.
Select a Jewish name that resonates with you. Often, people choose a name that is similar in sound and/or in meaning to their non-Jewish name.
Traditionally, Jews name their children after relatives or holy people. Sephardi Jews will sometimes name a child after a living ancestor; not so Ashkenazi Jews.
When we pray for someone, we have in mind that person's Jewish name and that of his/her mother. But when we call a man for an aliyah to the Torah, we use his Jewish name and that of his father.
A change in name can result in a change of fortune. That's why, if someone is dangerously ill, we might provide him an additional name.

Adonai Tov v’Salach -YHVH is good and forgiving
For thou, YHVH, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee. – Psalm 86:5

With all of the evil in the world, how can we be sure that Elohim is good? The skeptical mind reasons that if Elohim were entirely good and all-powerful, then He would surely make all of His creatures happy. However, since we all experience pain and suffering, His goodness may be rightly questioned. Of course this way of thinking is too simplistic, since it assumes that human happiness (usually understood as pleasure) is the goal of life, whereas the Scriptures make clear that a
relationship with a Set-Apart Elohim is its true end. YHVH's role is not therefore to make us all "happy," but rather to make us fit for relationship with Him, and He often allows suffering in our lives to
teach us the truth about our condition. The goodness of YHVH does not in any way imply that He must create well-pleased creatures who are oblivious of their relationship with the truth.
Ironically, many who impugn the goodness of YHVH often don’t want anything to do with the responsibility to be morally good themselves. For the skeptic, goodness is fobbed off as Elohim’s responsibility to please man, rather than man’s responsibility to please Elohim. The voice of conscience that reveals the “categorical imperative” to always do what we (intuitively) know is right must therefore be suppressed, and the self becomes divided, at war within, and fragmented. If we do not realize this, it is because we are asleep or morally deadened;
however, the moment we awaken and become alive, life itself becomes tragic. As the Apostle Paul said, "I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died" (Rom. 7:9).
The goodness of YHVH, then, poses a problem for sinful people, since it reveals their alienation from the truth and implies that YHVH is inaccessible to them on account of His perfect righteousness and holiness. The morally perfect Master cannot tolerate the presence of injustice or evil of any kind, and therefore those who violate His perfect moral standards must be subject to the verdict of truth from Him. But can YHVH forgive sin and restore the sinner from this state of exile?
The Hebrew word translated "forgive" is salach, which (like the verb bara, to create) is used exclusively of YHVH. Since YHVH is the giver of life, sins committed against others are regarded as offenses against Elohim Himself. As we do unto others, we do unto YHVH. Therefore it is YHVH's prerogative to forgive, since ultimately He is the offended party. In the Torah, YHVH instituted the sacrificial system as a means of reconciliation with Him for human sinfulness. The law of Moses taught that when a person sinned against YHVH, he or she was under sentence of death. Hasatan, the accuser, would make a case for the person’s neshamah (soul). To appease the required judgment, however, YHVH mercifully accepted the death of a sacrificial victim in place of the sinner.
The guilty person would come before YHVH (at the mishkan or
Tabernacle), lean his hands upon the head of the sacrificial animal
(semichah), and then say viduy (confession): “I deserve to die instead
of this blameless animal, but You mercifully accept the death of this
innocent one in my stead.” When YHVH saw the shed blood or ascending
smoke of the sacrifice, he would forgive the sinner based on his faith
and teshuvah (repentance).
The obedience of Yahushua is the example we are to follow and the means of securing our eternal reconciliation with YHVH by providing an infinitely worthy restitution to an infinitely just and Set-Apart Elohim. The good news is that justice and mercy have kissed, and because of
Yahushua example we can now call upon YHVH who is rav chesed (abounding in steadfast love) toward us.

Chesed-ve’emet nifgashu, tzedek veshalom nashaku.
Steadfast love and truth meet; righteousness and peace
kiss each other. Psalm 85:10

Pharisaical Teachings

Not a lot of modern day believers really understand who the Pharisees are and what they believe and teach. We need to have some background to understand why Y’shua lashed out against the Pharisees. This study is to understand the Parsees and their Oral law and to help us not to make the same mistakes they did.

The Pharisees are called Jewish Orthodox Rabbis today. To become a Pharisee today, you have to be from a direct line from the original Pharisaic line. They are called Orthodox Jewish Rabb… Continue

Study of the Aybri (Hebrew) Word Virgin

There has always been much debate about whether or not the ‘gospels’ were tampered with because in them contain the story of the virgin birth. Many believe bible translators mistranslated the aybri (hebrew) word ‘ahaylmah’ in YshayYahu (Isaiah) 7:14:

“Therefore Yahuah Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin (ahaylmah - H5959) shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Aym'nu Al (Immanuel).”

Before we search into the meanings of these words let’s compare some verses that us… Continue

the things I get a kick out of... pt1: what is the correct interpretation...?

Some tell others that they are misinterpreting the Bible, this would mean that there is a correct interpretation of the Bible which these others have deviated from. The problem is that the various sectaries of bible believers cannot agree on what that correct interpretation is. Consider all the different sectaries of the Hebraic Movement:

Messsianic Jews 4 Jesus;
Messianic Torah;
Messianic Oneness;
Messianic Trinitarian;

Sacred Name Yahshua;

"Ten Days of Awe" - Daily Reading
(re-posted from the Door Post )

It is traditional to read Psalm 27 during the month of Elul up until Yom Kippur
(for the whole 40 days). Jews say that Yahweh taught them through this Psalm, the resurrection of the dead, the wedding and coronation of King Messiah besides other things relating to this season.

Also Psalm 145 is specifically read during the ten days of Awe.

My testimony

While growing up, my family was not very religious. My dad told me about my Mormon grandfather, who at age 50, decided his religion was filled with lies and left Mormonism and his family home in Vermont and moved to California. He still believed in God and taught my dad his beliefs, but stressed that there were many false teachers in the world, and that my dad should decide for himself what church he would want to attend. That is what my dad taught me, as well. We did go to a Pentecostal church… Continue
